Finish Machiavelli, Humanism, introduce "New Monarchs"
Homework: Choose 1 state mentioned in Kagan chapter 1 under "The Revival of Monarchy in Northern Europe", write a two paragraph response following this format: Challenge (what were the problems the state faced at the start of the 1400s?) => Response (how did the monarchy respond to/address these problems?) => Result (how successful was the monarchy in that state at centralizing power in themselves?)

2) Documentary: The Day the Universe Changed (Science, Art, and Philosophy in the Renaissance)
HW: Watch the documentary The Day the Universe Changed: "Point of View", fill out the notes sheet handed out in class (DO NOT WRITE THE 1 PAGE RESPONSE AFTER WATCHING THE DOCUMENTARY, just watch it, and take notes as directed on the notes sheet).
Link to documentary is the button at the bottom of the page. I highly recommend using Ad-Blocker on the website! I apologize for using Daily Motion, it's not a reliable website, but unfortunately that's the only place I could get this documentary right now (I am in the process of ordering the DVD series for the class).
